Petition Directions
Applicants needing to complete a petition have not met the established standards for admission to the University of Louisville. The Admissions Office and the Appeals Committee is concerned with the academic welfare of every student and is willing to consider all evidence which might justify an exception to the established standards. Please note, however, that in order to have your peition reviewed, you must follow the guidelines outlined below. The petition dates refer to receipt of ALL required credentials.

All required credentials listed below must be received in the Office of Admissions by the petition deadline listed above. These credentials include, but are not limited to:
- Petition for Admissions
- Current Application for Admissions
- Official Transcripts from All Colleges/Universities Attended
- $30 Application Fee
- High School Transcript and ACT/SAT scores if transfering with less than 24 college credit hours
NOTE: If at the time of review a final transcript with most recent grades is not available, your petition may be deferred until receipt of this transcript. This will affect the date you receive notification.
Content of Petition
Your petition should include the following:
- Statement of Educational Goals
- An Explanation of Previous Poor Academic Performance
- Any Changes in Circumstances that Will Promote Academic Success
